I told you that Hollow Survivors will participate in the October Steam NextFest... and that was the plan right up until a few weeks ago when something happened…
I signed with a publisher.
That’s right! Hollow Survivors is now published by Gameparic. I know, I know, that’s pretty cool and all but what does that have to do with Steam Next Fest? Well, my original plan was to participate in Next Fest in October and release the game in late November. But it turns out that releasing in November-December is a big NO-NO for indie games. This is because a lot of AAA titles are released during this period and lots of great old games are on sale as well. The new plan is to participate in the NextFest in February and release the game sometime in Q2 2024.

In case you’re curious, here’s what I managed to do over the last month:
Applied most important user feedback.
Added a dialogue system (using Yarn Spinner)
Added soul-balls that you can build to passively generate soul-essence.
Designed and coded 3 new weapons (they are still being drawn though)
The Blacksmith must now be saved and brought back to the settlement before you can use his services.
